Bounce rate
The bounce rate is the share of visitors leaving without doing anything: no click, no scroll, no second page.
A high bounce rate need not be bad. Someone who finds the answer immediately and leaves had a successful visit. Context determines the meaning.
It only becomes an alarm when the page must lead onward. A landing page where eighty percent leaves at once promises something the page does not deliver.
Never compare raw figures between channels. Social traffic naturally bounces more than brand-name traffic.
How we do it
We read bounce rates per channel and page type, and tie them to what the page must do.
